Rules and Regulations

Every Saturday before 11am Atlantic time, you need to pick a player you think will score a goal that day. If they do, great. You get a free week. If they do not, you owe a buck to the pot (collected at year end). Winner is the person at the end of the regular season who was most successful at picking goal scorers each Saturday.

However, if a player scores for you, they are no longer eligible for you to use for the rest of the season. If he doesn't score, you are free to reuse him until he does.

Note: Goals only count in Regulation Time and Overtime. SHOOTOUT GOALS DO NOT COUNT.

At the end of the year, the people in first place win 60% of the total pot. People in 2nd place win 30% of the pot. And we have a prize for the people at the mid-way point of the standings, it is 10%.

Since there are only 2 top prizes (1st and 2nd) ties are inclusive per rank giving more possibility for winning, and will be split between them:

    Example 1:
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 2 = 12 misses
  • Rank 3 = 13 misses
  • Rank 4 = 14 misses
  • Rank 5 = 15 misses
    • Rank 1 wins 60% and Rank 2 wins 30%
    Example 2:
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 2 = 12 misses
  • Rank 2 = 12 misses
  • Rank 3 = 13 misses
  • Rank 4 = 14 misses
    • Rank 1 wins 60% and Rank 2 wins 30% split
    Example 3:
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 2 = 13 misses
  • Rank 3 = 14 misses
  • Rank 4 = 15 misses
    • Rank 1 wins 60% split and Rank 2 wins 30%
    Example 5:
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 1 = 11 misses
  • Rank 2 = 13 misses
  • Rank 2 = 13 misses
    • Rank 1 wins 60% split 3-ways and Ranks 2 wins 30% split

Mid-way point Winner:
The midway point winner is a great way to allow people to continue to have a chance of winning a prize pot even if they are out of contention for the top prizes.
Due to the amount of ties that happen in this pool, if the halfway point falls within a tie in the rankings with higher ranked people, the prize will move to the next lowest rank.
any tie breaks for the mid-way point prize will consist of adding the total goals scored from each participants no-pick list, and the lowest total will win the prize.

    Example 6: (38 people)
  • Player 17 = 15 misses
  • Player 18 = 16 misses
  • Player 19 = 17 misses
  • Player 20 = 18 misses
  • Player 21 = 19 misses
  • Player 22 = 19 misses
    • Player 19 wins the midway prize.
    Example 7: (38 people)
  • Player 17 = 15 misses
  • Player 18 = 16 misses
  • Player 19 = 17 misses
  • Player 20 = 17 misses
  • Player 21 = 18 misses
  • Player 22 = 19 misses
    • Player 19 and 20 will have a tie-break for the midway prize.
    Example 8: (38 people)
  • Player 16 = 15 misses
  • Player 17 = 16 misses
  • Player 18 = 16 misses
  • Player 19 = 16 misses
  • Player 20 = 17 misses
  • Player 21 = 18 misses
  • Player 22 = 18 misses
    • Player 20 wins the midway prize.
    Example 9: (38 people)
  • Player 16 = 15 misses
  • Player 17 = 16 misses
  • Player 18 = 16 misses
